The OTPC Tablet provided to year 4, 5 and 6 Maltese students offers a wealth of apps and resources. In the toolbox section, the user can access various apps some of which are listed below.

Literacy Pro

Is an online reading programme that encourages students to read independently. Students can choose books according to their interests and Lexile level. Students first take a Lexile test and a choice of books is given according to their score. Literacy Pro encourages and monitors comprehension, making it a valuable tool for teachers to record student’s reading progress. With 24/7, simultaneous access to over 2,000 Scholastic ebooks and beloved authors, there are more opportunities for your students to find what they want and can read. BrainPOP

Is an app available via the OTPC school tablet’s toolbox. In this animated educational site, users engage in learning through games, animated movies and activities, and is equipped with relevant material for the classroom. This also supports educators’ needs and focuses on classroom-optimised tools. Students are challenged to reflect, make connections and engage in deeper learning. Octavo

Currently available for year 6 students, the Octavo app is a reading app that makes reading easy and fun for everyone. By using it on the OTPC school tablets, users have access to various Maltese eBooks.

DK Find Out! Encyclopedia

Access the DK Find Out! Digital Encyclopedia to learn about dinosaurs, space, animals, nature & more. Fun learning activities for kids with videos, quizzes & galleries.

J2E Tools

The J2E Tool Suite is a collection of online educational tools specifically designed to engage, motivate and inspire. It encourages pupils to create, share, and safely blog their work at school and at home. It is also an effective resource for teachers enabling file sharing, collaborative learning, and assessment and tracking.

Libby

Libby the Reading App is a fresh and easy way to borrow from your library without leaving your couch. Malta Libraries members are encouraged to access the app and login using their membership card details.
